Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the movie is based on the book by Paul Lieberman. Adapted by Will Beall, the movie is set in 1940s and 50s Los Angeles when the East Coast gangster Mickey Cohen made his way to California to expand his criminal enterprise.
A group of LAPD officers decide that they must go above the law in order to stop drugs, violence and prostitution from taking over the streets.
The film features an all-star cast that includes Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie and Nick Nolte, aswell as Michael Pena, Frank Grillo, Sullivan Stapleton, Josh Pence and Jon Polito.
