Sandra Bullock is not new to cops. We have seen her in Miss Congeniality as FBI agent Gracie Hart. She was fun to watch in the first movie, little less in the second.
But now she will team up with Melissa McCarthy for a comedy written by Katie Dippold and directed by Bridesmaids‘ Paul Feig.
According to Variety McCarthy and Bullock will star the yet-to-be-titled project, described as a buddy cop movie. Bullock character is a “high-strung FBI agent,” who has a strained relationship with McCarthy’s character, an “unconventional Boston cop,” with whom she’s tasked to work in an effort to take down a Russian gangster.
Bridesmaids portrayed perfectly the funny female-focused humor. It will be interested to see the same humor in a cop movie with females buddies. But the movie has all it takes to be a good one. First there is Paul Feig, who aced Bridesmaids and the script will be penned by Katie Dippold. I hope my expectations are not too high.
