New Rum Diary Poster

The Rum Diary

Only only two weeks left for seeing The Rum Diary, Johnny Depp’s long-awaited reunion with the works of Hunter S. Thompson.

I am excited. And this new posters which shows that Depp’s character, Paul Kemp, could teach the guys of Hangover what it is like to wake up and find a mess.

Based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary follows journalist Kemp as he abandons New York for a job at the San Juan Star in 1950s Puerto Rico. It also tells a fictionalized version of Thompson’s own exploits in Puerto Rico. The Rum Diary sees Kemp befriending an eccentric cast of characters who staff the paper.

In addition to Depp and Amber Heard, The Rum Diary cast includes Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi, and Richard Jenkins, with a script and direction from Bruce Robinson. The Rum Diary opens on October 28th.

Given the Thompson pedigree and the title of the film, you can expect plenty of boozing as Kemp self-destructs and falls for a dame (Amber Heard) he probably shouldn’t.

Dear God. Pull those boxers down just a little. You look like my grandpa.
  • Probably because that’s what your grandpa would have looked like in the 50s… which is when this movie is set.
  • Don’t worry. I did know that the film was set in the 50’s. Pretty up to date on my HST. Just surprised to see how much wearing boxers on one’s “natural waist” makes them look twice their age.

Could he be any more airbrushed? :/ I mean I know he’s getting up there in years, nothing wrong with showing that.
  • Honestly a disappointing poster for a movie I’m very excited about. Yes we get it, he trashed the hotel room – but its far too busy. Those mini bottles look way too placed. LESS IS MORE. Seriously who gets paid the big bucks to make these. Are you hiring???

Carpie2112 Also, The Walking Dead is almost dead to me. I may continue to watch just for the unintended laughs and the excellent make-up. 9 hours ago · reply · retweet · favorite

Carpie2112 I alliterate way too much and even though I notice it, I continue to do it anyway… same with ellipses. 9 hours ago · reply · retweet · favorite
