Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights is coming back to the big screen but it seems that Andrea Arnold’s version is a bit different.
Adapted by Olivia Hetreed and directed by Arnold, the film sees for a first time a black actor (James Howson) playing the role of Heathcliff. But that’s not it. According to the British Board of Film Classification, the new movie will only be appropriate for those ages 15 and up as it contains “strong language, once very strong, racist terms & animal killings.”

Premiered at the Venice International Film Festival this past summer it will be distributed by Oscilloscope Pictures in the US though no release date has been set yet.
