After director Noam Murro accepted 300 prequel Xerxes: Battle of Artemisia mid July, he has dedicated all himself to the project, and apparently forgot the other high-profile sequel he’s supposed to be directing; Die Hard 5.
According to Twitch, Murro will in fact be stepping down from Die Hard to focus on his other film.
Rumors of a fifth installment of the franchise came when back in 2007 the fourth was released, then Bruce Willis himself confirmed it as “imminent” in an interview last summer and that filming would likely start this year.
In February, Murro was hired, but will apparently abandon the project. Next on the list is John Moore, who reportedly has been told the job is his if he wants it, who according to his past project could handle the movie pretty well.
But do we need a fifth movie of Die Hard? Unless we have the old John McClane back, I guess not.
