It was announced that Christopher Meloni, best known for his roles on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, would be joining Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.
When the announcement was made, it wasn’t said what role Meloni would be playing, so many speculated that the actor would play classic villain Lex Luthor. He won’t.
Vulture talked to the actor “earlier this week” – who said that he won’t be playing either Luthor or White, but instead will be playing a military general.
He also mentioned he would be working on the film starting at the end of August and would be going to Chicago, Vancouver, and Edwards Air Force Base over the course of the production.
The rest of the Man of Steel cast includes Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Michael Shannon (General Zod), Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), and Antje Traue (Faora). Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond are both in talks for the roles of Superman’s Kryptonian parents.
