Coming Soon reports that Rachel Weisz is now in talks to play a part in the Sam Raimi-directed Oz: The Great And Powerful.
If she decides to sign, she will join a cast that already includes James Franco, who will be the titular grifter, and Mila Kunis, who will play Theodora, better known as the Wicked Witch of the West.
Weisz will also play a witch, Kunis’ older sister, Evanora, who is also evil. In the film, Oz, along with Glenda The Good Witch – who has not yet been cast – works to try and get rid of Theodora and Evanora. Based on a script by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire, production is scheduled to begin this summer.
Weisz should be starring in more movies; she should be doing three to four films a year instead of the one or two she’s been doing for the last eight years. She has talent, and has proved it.
