Olivia Thirlby’s The Darkest Hour Pushed To December

Olivia Thirlby

The Darkest Hour, has now been pushed from a summer release to December 23.

The THR article that reports the shift doesn’t mention it as a bad sign for the movie. Maybe the studio saw a Christmas release better than the previous August 5th.

Also in the cast is Emile Hirsch who hasn’t appeared in a movie since 2009’s Taking Woodstock. The actor was scheduled to have a few more films showing up soon that didn’t materialize, including a Hamlet adaptation to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke that fell apart, and the now Russian-set alien invasion thriller The Darkest Hour.
