New Pirates 4 Poster Star Mermaids

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has gone through lots of changes; for instance it changed director, then the Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley vanished. Still people cared about the franchise. Why? Because it is not Bloom or Knightley what makes Pirates of the Caribbean, Pirates of the Caribbean but Johnny Depp.

After the amazing character posters, ComingSoon released another character poster starring not one, but three splendid mermaids. The image looks painted, or photoshopped which adds to the ethereal feel of the mermaids. Making them looking really cool despite being drawn.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will be released this summer on May 20th, look below the poster for the official synopsis.

Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penelope Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

New Pirates 4 Mermaid Poster

We’ve known Disney to be a marketing machine in the past and it looks like they haven’t changed their tune at all for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and with good reason. With a new director and no teen heartthrobs the likes of Bloom or Knightley, it makes sense that they would make sure people still cared about the franchise.

Out of characters to posterize, Disney has released a poster showing off the already popular mermaids that so many people are excited about. It follows the same conventions as the other posters that have been released, except that instead of just one character, we’re looking at three. The image looks painted or at least very heavily photoshopped which adds to the ethereal feel of the mermaids. It’s pretty cool.

Scope out the image below or in much larger fashion over at ComingSoon. Pirates 4 kicks off the summer May 20th, look below the poster for the official synopsis.

I like the way they did it. It really does have an almost painted look to it.

This poster looks as bad as the movie trailer. Way to kill the series for cash Disney. Also does anyone else think casting P.Crews in this movie a bad idea?
