Paramount Pictures made one of the biggest acquisitions of this year’s Sundance Film Festival when they acquired the romance Like Crazy. The movie starred Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones that eventually went on to win the Grand Jury Prize.
Now it seems that Paramount invested in another movie to be directed by Like Crazy director Drake Doremus.
According to The LA Times, Paramount and Montecito Pictures have acquired the rights to the novel Through to You, described by the paper as “a youth-themed science fiction romance.” Doremus would direct the film, telling the story of a teenager who discovers a world in which his deceased girlfriend still lives.
Jonathan Schwartz is set to produce with York Jones to write the script, same team of Like Crazy. Maybe considering the great success of Like Crazy, Paramount believes the good team is a winning one. The film set to come out in theaters later this year.
