A few days back Aaron Johnson was offered to star opposite Keira Knightley in a new adaptation of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina. Though it is still not confirmed whether Johnson will join, there is another male lead.
According to Variety, the actor in question is Jude Law, and it is unclear what role he will be doing.
But considering the novel, there’s Anna husband, twenty years her senior, which might work considering Law is thirteen years older than Knightley. There’s also the soldier she falls in love with and her brother Stiva.
Anna Karenina is being directed by Joe Wright who also directed Atonement in the past meaning we can expect something good. And since the novel is an absolute masterpiece, it deserves the best A list cast to fill out the roles.
